Responsibilities: As part of the Turntide acquisition of Riptide IO, I oversaw & helped develop migrations from the Riptide web app to the Turntide suite of applications. I designed & developed several custom in-house tools for specific needs, and I helped spearhead the refactor of an old codebase, which included evaluation & testing of different front-end frameworks. *Please note that I was not permitted to keep any work directly related to Turntide, so the projects listed are ones that I spun off of existing work.
Background: Prior to its acquisition of RiptideIO, Turntide Technologies focused exclusively on its proprietary switched reluctance motors, which promise significant decreased energy consumption and emissions. As buildings are responsible for 30% of the global final energy consumption, Turntide saw an opportunity to reduce energy consumption by optimizing the way buildings are managed. The acquisition of RiptideIO was a strategic move to expand Turntide's offerings to include a suite of building management tools.
