Work

I've been fortunate to have worked on some incredible projects with amazing teammates. Over the years, I've learned just as much about myself as I have about the technologies with which I work.

Prismatext logotype

Prismatext

Co-founder/Head of Product

2020-present

Designed & developed front- and back-end products powering Prismatext's proprietary 'blended language' software. In addition to acting as product designer for the mobile application, my responsibilities also included crafting the strategic vision of the company and its products, quality assurance, gathering requirements, writing specifications, creating wireframes & prototypes, conducting user testing & research, assembling high-fidelity mockups, and building & deploying a custom storefront—all while constantly iterating on the ever-changing world of machine learning and AI.

Turntide logotype

Turntide

Senior Product Designer/Design Operations Lead

2021-2022

As part of the Turntide acquisition of Riptide IO, I oversaw & helped develop migrations from the Riptide web app to the Turntide suite of applications. I designed & developed several custom in-house tools for specific needs, and I helped spearhead the refactor of an old codebase, which included evaluation & testing of different front-end frameworks. *Please note that I was not permitted to keep any work directly related to Turntide, so the projects listed are ones that I spun off of existing work.

RiptideIO logotype

RiptideIO

Senior Product Designer

2014-2021

At Riptide I worked as the sole designer on a team of 15+ engineers to develop a suite of customer-facing applications and in-house tools for Riptide IO's Building Management System. Notable projects include a visual programming editor, a drag-and-drop KPI reports builder, a custom map portfolio overview, and an isometric equipment schematics builder. I also contributed a significant amount of code to the frontend of the applications and tools I designed.

Roles

I typically work in one of three stages in the product development lifecycle:

Ideation (start to prototype)

I excel at taking concepts and turning them into reality: first through wireframing and rapid prototyping, and eventually delivering high-fidelity mockups that can be handed off to a developer. (See: Rocky, Peabody, Hybrid User, Maya)

Execution (prototype to MVP+)

The framework has been chosen. The tech stack is locked in. It's time to
git init and commit. I love bringing static prototypes to life to create dynamic, accessible, and responsive applications. (See: Bullwinkle, Peabody, Huey)

Design Operations (product-led startup)

Being a hybrid designer-developer has its perks, chief among them being able to communicate between specialized groups. As a Design Operations Lead, I reduce friction where design & development teams overlap. (See: Huey, Gosumbe)
